What is Hakomi Session?
Some hypnosis sessions are intense, taking very long to incorporate especially if the client does not have a support system in place. I use Hakomi to help clients integrate what they have discovered in their hypnosis sessions. Hakomi is a gentle and compassionate approach that integrates mindfulness, somatic awareness, and body-centered techniques. Unlike traditional therapy, Hakomi focuses not on the problem itself but on the wisdom your body holds. It is specially effective for highly analytical clients to break the loop of over-thinking.
I will create a safe and supportive space where you can explore deep emotions, and cultivate self-acceptance. This method works by bringing awareness to the present moment, allowing you to experience long-lasting transformation through the sensations of your body.
Rather than diving into pathology, Hakomi invites you to tune into the here and now, helping you access a meditative state that may not be easily reachable on your own. It’s not just about talking—Hakomi is a somatic experience that organically activates your self-healing abilities and helps you reconnect with your body’s innate capacity for balance and regulation.
How does Hakomi Works
Hakomi is a collaborative journey. Together, we explore the body’s wisdom and uncover the patterns that may be limiting your growth. Here’s what to expect during a typical session:
- Active Listening: You’ll share the topics and challenges you’d like to explore. This helps me understand where you are and where you’d like to go. It’s a partnership where your needs and intentions guide the process.
- Tuning into the Present Moment: With the intention set, we move into the here and now. Using mindful awareness, I will guide you to tune into sensations, emotions, and thoughts. This is where mindfulness comes in—together, we will notice what arises without judgment. It’s all about cultivating awareness of the present.
- Identifying Core Beliefs: As we explore, we’ll gently identify core beliefs or blockages that may have been shaping your experience. These beliefs often emerge in response to past experiences and influence how you react to life’s challenges.
- Experimenting with New Experiences: Through small, mindful experiments—such as movement, words, and imagination—we’ll explore new ways of being. This allows us to examine different perspectives, reactions, and responses that may feel more aligned with your authentic self.
- Integrating the Experience: Mindfulness provides a container for any emotions or insights that emerge during the session. Together, we allow space for these emotions to flow and transform, shifting limiting beliefs into more freeing and empowering ones.
Possible Benefits of Hakomi Sessions
Hakomi is a powerful tool for healing, offering benefits that extend beyond the therapy room. Some of the key benefits include:
- Emotional Regulation: Hakomi helps you understand the root causes of emotional reactivity, allowing you to respond to life’s challenges with more calm, clarity, and resilience.
- Enhanced Self-Awareness: By tuning into your body’s sensations, you develop a deeper understanding of your thoughts, feelings, and actions—leading to greater self-awareness and insight.
- Self-Healing and Regulation: Hakomi empowers you to tap into your body’s natural healing mechanisms, enabling you to create lasting change from within.
