Depression Episode After A Hypnosis Session

Your heart will get broken again and again before it cracks open. - Rumi

If you do have depression tendency, this is more likely to happen to you, but not necessarily. Most of my clients have experienced some kind of trauma in their current lifetime, so among my clients, 10%-15% will experience this. Luckily, most of my clients have also been on this healing journey for a while and have collected enough tools and resources for the bad weather. They usually tell me the first 3 days, you felt very refreshed, empowered and connected, and fall into a hole after 3 days, especially if they live alone, don't have an enrionment that nurtures them. Most people report a clearance within a month again.

In ancient times, those kind of inner jouneys are led by Shaman and supported by the whole tribe. So when you are done with your journey, everyone is there to help, to support, to nurture your newly found growth. But nowadays, we need to go to work, pick up kids and do tax clearance after such an intense experience, making it a lot harder to incorporate and metablise what has happened.

Openning up this new layer of healing, and sufferender. And catch the glimps of light in you.

"I was definitely in a better state before the session. Now all the negativity comes back"

This is the stage of work I refer to as "Opening Pandora's Box". Pandora released what primarily perceived as punishment - worries, unknown, hardship, but the lesson is really about the gifts of insight that are possible when we withihold judgement - and stay open and curious. This is different from any depression episode or crisis episode you had because it leads to long-term relief. And it is reasonable, after you experienced what you experienced. If you do not over-interpret it as your analytical mind trying to get you to, it will pass faster.

Hold a Gentle Space for Your Feelings and Notice the Light Inside

The more gentle you treat these newly arised emotions, give them a space, the quicker they integrate and settle. Then you will notice the new power and strength you have behind these. Remember what your Higer Self said in the session? you are given the power to deal with the memory this time.

  • Having a listener
If the feelings after the sessions are overwelming, consider sharing them with someone you can fully trust. If you have a therapist or coach who works with you, they are also helpful to hold space for the emotions that arise. Cognitive behavioral therapy, Hakomi, Gestalt are all good for integration. Choose less analytical but more grounding therapy forms.
  • Meditation
I recommend love a kindness meditation if you have depression. But whatever awakens the loving feelings in you would be fine. If you are not used to meditation, it is not the time to practice now. Choose something that brings you relief and joy right away.
  • Journaling
Journaling is extremely helpful to sort out your thoughts. Put your feelings gently on paper. Draw down what you saw in the session.
  • Be Selective About Any Input
Either it is people who take energy from you, or things that you simply don't like. Your body is telling you everything and you don't have to rationalise why, what and how. Stay away from anything that takes your energy away. If you do not have this option, be assertive, say no, say what you need, and make it into an environment you can accept. Here is a free Assertiveness Training Workbook I recommend.
  • Gentle Somatic Bodywork
Hakomi Sessions. I recommend Jason Link in Kreuzberg, Jason Link Somatic Therapy. Lieselot in Neukoeln is very good at somatic bodywork and trauma-informed pantarei sessionsLieselot from Mindful Massage. Many clients reported that a reiki session helps a lot with integretion.
  • Bath and Sauna
Bath and Sauna are easy ways to connect with our body. I reccommend Vabali Spa in Berlin
  • Embrace Nature
Walking barefoot, bike in a forest, swim in a lake, book a flight and go to the beach, just for yourself.
  • Creative Work
Singing, dancing, painting, writing, sewing, handwork, ceramik. I am always surprised how many come to the conclusion in hypnosis that the simple creative work they do is a founding pillar of their emotional balance.

Stay Connected with Your Higher Self

The hypnosis session is just one-time experience. It is made to open up the door a bit more, open up another layer of your heart, and let the light shine in a bit more. It is your job to integrate and keep it up. Otherwise, even the hard-earned results from the session could reverse. Healing only happens when you are at a blanced, aligned state. When you are in a state of joy, abundance and healthiness, joy healthiness and bundance will just come to you. If you have a system of maintenance, stick to it. Here are some more maintenance idea I recommend:

  • Listen Back to the Recording
listening back to the recording will take you back to the healing state. I also get different answers each time I listened to it for a different intention. Please do follow through what is taught in your session by your higher self. Otherwise you cannot expect a long-term result.
  • Meditation. Medidtation. Meditation.
Our negative unsconscious thoughts are the cause of most of our sufferings. Meditation is like training you to look at the road instead of the tree while driving. I recommend Vipassana retreats, I recommend Joe Dispenza. But really, any meditation is fine. Just do it daily. You feel the difference within days.
  • Listen to Your Body Daily
Whatever keeps you to be joyful and present fundamentally and deeply, do it weekly, no matter what your brain might tell you "I don't have time." "It's expensive.""It's only temporary relief.""I am so selfish.""My baby needs me. I can't go." No matter how urgent the problem in front you looks, you can only solve it when you are well. Invest into you emotional, physical, spiritual health. Everything else is a result of your abundance.
  • Continue Your Healing
Healing is more a path than a goal. Every layer brings you closer to your true self. Continue the work and enjoy the scenery on the way.
